And they deliver. They get deep into design and engineering philosophy, into tuning (naturally), on slop and imperfection, and then into geometry and a whole lot more.

Even though I’m sure it’s sincere the mutual admiration society they’ve got going becomes a bit much. Reminds me of the Syrobonkers interview, which just went on FOREVER with James’ obsessing about gear. I’ve been on the Analogue Heaven mailing list for 20 years and I thought THEY were obsessive. If RDJ showed up at a gear meet, people would start edging away from him after the first hour.

You gotta admit the track is great, though.
I mean – it’s an artist and an engineer; I think by that measure, it’s a nice discussion. If those folks get too good at this, then there’s no room left for us journalist/hacks 😀
I was glad to read it. But I’m beginning to think the common thread that ties the early 90s British electronic music producers is being on the autism spectrum 😉
