Okay, in an ideal world I’d be on a plane to L.A. to experience the Reakt audio/visual “experience” this Friday. But I’m tired, and have my own A/V experience gigs to get ready for, so I’m staying here in NYC. Let me tell you, instead:
Reakt is a massive party in downtown L.A. featuring some of the West Coast’s top musicians live, applying their talents to Reaktor 5. A couple of these folks contributed ensembles to Reaktor, so you can bet they know their stuff. The very excellent Derivative are providing an A/V installation, too. And check out the cool venue (pictured), Hanger1018. Corporate sponsorship aside, this is a digital happening the likes of which we haven’t seen in a long time.
CDM’s own Pierce Case will be there, but anyone going, please let me know how it is. And, NYC, we need to get something like this going over here. Sure, we can’t beat L.A. in baseball (ouch, that hurt), but we ought to be able to bring it when it comes to experimental A/V performance. Hear that, L.A.?

Just got in from this, and all and all it was pretty cool. It was a bit corporte in that it was designed as an installation, and there were stations to try out reaktor, but was stil cool. The spot in the house was outside..it was nice and loud…
Wow! What an awsome party, team Reaktor pulled out the Big Guns, I'd go to this weekly if they had this… The Lemur was amazing to watch, it is however very pricey, in the future I'd consider buying one if the price is right 🙂 I hope that the Lemur does some price adjusting before Christmas. Reaktor 5 Rocks! The music was unlike anything I've ever heard, the party could not be described w words, you had to be there!!! I learned some new exciting ways to put Reaktor to work for me. LA needed this, or at least I needed to see something like this. It was a glimpse of things to come, a glimpse of new dawn, it was the Future.
Agree.We definitely need to make party with Reaktor in NYC!!
