Novation’s hardware feels fantastic, and it’s finally shipping in quantity. Harmony Central reports Novation is packing some of the best things about the company’s high-end keyboards into a lighter, smaller, cheaper LE 25-key keyboard to be shown at AES here in NYC, and shipping next month.

The design looks great, totally clean, with everything I love about the big-brother ReMOTEs. All the essentials are here: knobs (sadly not continuous), X/Y joystick and touchpad, LED display, transport buttons, and the terrific-feeling key action. And with basslines in line, it even ships with Novation’s superb Bass Station plug as an AU/VST. Oxygen8, I think you’ve met your match.

Watch for my full Novation X-Station review later this month.

I've got a Remote25, hopefully they'll use the same keyboard action on the LE. I defy anyone to find a better feeling keyboard on a master controller. 🙂

Absolutely, the action is terrific, and I have heard they'll use the same — and that includes channel aftertouch, too. I have the new Korg Kontrol 49, which has a nice action, too, but no aftertouch.
